Tupac biopic by John Singleton is going to happen!
According to Variety, Singleton is going to write, produce and direct a biopic about the late legend of hip hop Tupac Shakur.
It has been, for a long time, in the plans of Hollywood to make a movie about the late actor/rapper. First Antoine Fuqua, back in 2010, showed interested in making the film but he dropped out in 2012, and as things seem John Singleton is going to replace him.
Singleton, director and writer of the powerful Boyz N The Hood, is the perfect person to make that movie happen, especially when in this project too, he controls so many aspects of the creative process. Another reason that makes him the ideal movie creator to make a biopic about Tupac is that he has, actually, worked with Shakur in his movie Poetic Justice, back in 1993.
The new movie will be focused on the rise of the global music icon to the moment that he was gunned down in Las Vegas in 1996.
We still don’t know which actor is going to portray him in the film. Singleton is currently working on a script and the production is going to start in June of 2014.
