Paramount gave the OK for Aronofsky’s cut of Noah

After being reluctant, Paramount agreed to release Darren Aronofsky’s cut of Noah for the theaters.

The studio, because of the fear that Aronofksy’s artistic take on the original Bible story might provoke a backlash from religious viewers, was testing different versions of the movie to estimate the public response.

Aronofsky says “I was upset, of course. No one’s ever done that to me. I imagine if I made comedies and horror films, it would be helpful, in dramas, it’s very, very hard to do. I’ve never been open to it.

“I had no problem completely honoring and respecting everything in the Bible and accepting it as truth,” said the director and then he explained that he also wanted to attract non-believers with “this fantastical world a la Middle-earth that they wouldn’t expect from their grandmother’s Bible school.”

Luckily the studio supported Aronofsky’s vision and agreed to the two hour and twelve minute cut to be released on theaters for the movie lovers to watch.

Religious or not, you can watch the movie on March 27 2014 in Greece, on March 28 2014 in USA and on April 4 2014 in UK.
