This American Life is a hour long American radio program hosted by the really talented Ira Glass. The show is produced by WBEZ and distributed by Public Radio International. Every week they choose a theme and they present stories that have to do with that theme.
The "Godless America" episode is divided in three parts: Prologue, Act One and Act Two.
In the Prologue they present the stories of two people who witnessed the violation of the separation of state and church directly.
In Act One: The Substance Of Things Hoped For... In Government, we hear a quick rundown of the ways the Christian conservatives push their agenda into public policies in America.Why they believe that separation of state and church was not what the founding fathers intended and how that's wrong. Also the show presents the Christian and secular arguments on that subject.
In Act Two: God Said, Huh?, Julia Sweeney, an ex-Catholic, tells the story of how she started questioning her religion after reading the whole bible and how she let God go.
